PADI Deep Dive Speciality course
Deep Diving. Learn how to dive deeper safely. The depth range of Scapa Flow wrecks is 18-45m so increasing your AOW limit from 30m to 40m opens up a whole new world. This is particularly true for the battleships and especially the Kronprinz Wilhelm where you will be able to see the big 12” guns which lie on the sea bed at 38m.

Completing the PADI Advanced Open Water Course gave you an introduction to diving to depths of 30m. The PADI Deep Diver Speciality Course will expand your knowledge and skills making you a more competent diver. By improving your capabilities and increasing your confidence, you become a safer diver and further your enjoyment of diving. At the end of the course your certified depth limit will have increased to 40m - the maximum limit for recreational diving.

The Deep Diver course equips you with the skills and knowledge to meet the challenge of diving deeper and acts as a passport to a new and exciting world!

The course is most water based with four Open Water boat dives in Scapa Flow. Included in the course are also essential knowledge development sessions where you will learn and practice: -

You will also learn to make special considerations that may influence your dive such as; environmental conditions, your physical and physiological well-being, time passed since your last dive, your repetitive diving considerations, remoteness of the dive location, distance to emergency assistance and availability of proper first aid equipment.

You will put all your new knowledge and skills into practice whilst diving the world famous wrecks of Scapa Flow.

Many of the worlds best diving sites are at depths greater than 18m. The PADI Deep Diver Speciality course comes highly recommended to increase your safety and enjoyment as a diver at increased depths. With Scapa Scuba's ideal location you can do your deep diver certification in one of the best wreck diving sites in the world.

Course duration - 2 days comprising of 4 boat dives
Prerequisites - PADI Advanced Open Water diver or equivalent, min age - 15 years.

Nitrox Diving - Increase your bottom time with the Nitrox Speciality Course! Enjoy a no decompression time of 30 minutes at 30 metres compared with just 20 minutes on Air! The PADI Nitrox speciality will allow you to use custom gas mixes between 21% [air] and 40% for maximum allowable no decompression limits.

Course duration: 1 evening (1½ hours classroom) followed by 1 days diving [combined with your Wreck diver course]

Prerequisites: PADI Advanced Open Water or an equivalent level with another agency.
