PADI Dry Suit Diving Speciality Course

Wreck Diver

The majority of divers coming to Scapa Scuba have never dived in a dry suit - let alone in water temperatures under 20°C!

Learning to dive in a dry suit is fun! Diving – yet staying dry – can be quite a bizarre feeling for the many divers that we teach!  During the Dry suit course you will have time to acclimatise to the new sensation whilst learning the various skills and techniques necessary for dry suit diving. This course acts as your passport to the wrecks in Scapa Flow!

With Scapa Scuba all training dives are completed at the Churchill Barriers on the Blockship wrecks. With a maximum depth here of 12 metres, and sheltered conditions, we have the ideal site to teach you dry suit diving.

We offer the course over one or two days.

Wreckage

2 Day Course

This 2 day option is aimed at PADI Open Water divers (or equivalent and above).  Whilst fun and enjoyable, the PADI Drysuit Speciality course can also be demanding for the beginner and/or occasional diver.  For those wishing to do the course that have not dived in the last 12 months, or have less than 20 dives, we recommend combining the PADI Drysuit course with a Drysuit orientation day to make it a 2 day certification course.  This allows extra time to reacquaint with the underwater environment before moving onto the drysuit skills.

1 Day Course

Again, aimed PADI Open Water divers (or equivalent), the 1 day option is best suited to the more confident and experienced diver.  It is recommended that divers have a minimum of 20 dives and have dived recently.
