This course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for divers to effectively and efficiently perform diver rescues, assists, manage diving-accident situations and give first aid in real life situations.
Although exhilarating and addictive, scuba diving is a potentially dangerous sport. Up until now all your diver training has focused on your individual safety, however during the PADI Rescue Diver course you will focus on other divers safety as well as your own. The course increases awareness to potential error, with the emphasis on prevention. Further to this, a series of rescue skills will be practised and developed to prepare you for the unlikely event of a diving emergency.
The course is split between academic, confined and open water sessions.
Although dealing with serious issues, the course is taught in a relaxed and enjoyable manner throughout. On completion you will be a safer and more confident diver. The Rescue Diver course is very rewarding, leaving you with the knowledge, confidence and skills to save a life.
Course cost:
Rescue diver course + EFR course (4 days) = £475.
Rescue diver (3 days) course only - £365
EFR course (1 day) only - £125
10% discount for 2, making the 4 day course £427.50 a saving of nearly £50.
Prerequisites -
The rescue diver course is highly recommended and is offered to any Advanced Open Water diver aged 12 and above.
Additionally, Medic First Aid Training is required before you can be certified as a Rescue diver. It is compulsory to have
completed a sanctioned course in CPR within the past 2 years. The Emergency First Response (EFR) course is highly
recommended as it meets all the requirements. Scapa Scuba runs a one day EFR course (£125) which is open to everyone
