The objective of this course is to train divers in the proper techniques, equipment requirements and the possible hazards of deep air/nitrox diving to a maximum depth of 55m using stage/deco bottles of nitrox or oxygen to accelerate decompression. Extended Range diving builds strongly on what divers have learnt in the Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses.
Prerequisites
Practical
6 open water dives focusing on buoyancy and trim, ascent/descent techniques, valve shutdowns, working with 2
stage bottles, gas switching, out of gas scenarios, DSMB deployment, emergency procedures and much more!
Theory
Including topics such as history of deep air diving, physics, physiology, decompression options
[back gas/nitrox/oxygen], equipment considerations, dive tables, dive computers and software
for planning decompression dives, gas management etc.
Course Cost:
This is a three-day course at £395 [it is possible to run Extended Range Diver alongside Decompression Procedures,
please call the dive centre for details] fully inclusive of student manual, certification etc. Boat fees and gas are not included.
Equipment Requirements
Please contact the dive centre for exact equipment requirements for each course. As a general guide, Adv Nitrox can
