Enjoy the luxury of longer bottom times and/or reduced decompression times - by diving with Nitrox!
Orkney boasts some of the best wreck diving Europe has to offer in depths of 5 – 50m. By completing your technical training with Scapa Scuba, you will be learning in an environment typical of British sea conditions. The majority of dives take place on the German High Seas Fleet sunk in Scapa Flow.

Whilst some of the courses listed below offer a very intensive learning experience, the end result is a very competent technical diver who is able to take their diving forward and explore to the limits of their training/experience.

Scapa Scuba also offer the following PADI Nitrox course Nitrox Diving - Increase your bottom time with the PADI Nitrox Speciality Course! - Enjoy a no decompression time of 30 minutes at 30 metres compared with just 20 minutes on Air! The PADI Nitrox speciality will allow you to use custom gas mixes between 21% [air] and 40% for maximum allowable no decompression limits.

Scapa Scuba is able to offer the following options for the PADI Nitrox course:

• As a ‘bolt on’ to other courses we offer e.g. PADI Advanced Open Water, PADI Deep/Wreck Speciality etc. even guided dives in Scapa Flow @ an additional £100.

Duration: 1½ hours of classroom time the evening before the scheduled days diving. Course costs include equipment hire and all relevant course materials.

• As a classroom only based course @ £110 ideal for those on an existing charter in Scapa Flow.

Duration: 4 hours of classroom time. Course costs include all relevant materials.

Prerequisites: PADI Open Water or an equivalent level with another agency.

All are run from hard boats in Scapa Flow with courses starting daily. The lecture portion of the course can be done on board your dive boat, in between dives, or during the evenings. The practical portion of the course will be conducted on the wrecks that you wish to dive, thus not disturbing your holiday, the rest of the group or the enjoyment of your diving.
